International Pencak Silat Federation, Pentjak Silat USA was established in the
United States of America in 1990 for the purpose of unifying and preserving the
system, fundamentals as well as the various expressions of the Indonesian martial
art.
Below you will find sites related to Pentjak/Pencak Silat Think of this as your
main Indonesian Martial Art Navigator.
Anak Serak (child of Serak)... is the offshoot of Serak made available to the general public for
commercial use.  There are many Langkas and Jurus.  Langkas is lower body fundamentals
(Footwork) and Jurus is upper body fundamentals (Hand work). The style is not changed in
any way.  AnakSerak is the commercial level of training without the more difficult,  defined
and refined (alus) training given to the inner circle of students of Serak of which there are
only a handful.  The _expression seen in the video is simply the "tongkat" stick work.  Body
protection is used to provide realism as we make contact with both weapon and empty hand.  The
Tongkat is used to help convey some of the harder to understand concepts in Serak to a
beginning student.  In this manner, understanding of the footwork and hand movements
becomes clearer.
